tomorrow

He stands in sadness, embracing the cold darkness
She lays in slumber, eyes drawn tightly
He listens as the rain pours on his roof
She is the light that will warm his soul from darkness
She grasps his heart with a single parting of her lips
Rain pours upon him, soaking him to the bone
As she lay, sleeping, dreaming, breathing
The bitter cold is passed with the warmth of her thought
He knocks
She sleeps
His heart sinks as large drops pour upon his already soaked face
Cold, denied, broken and hopeless, he turns and walks away
She feels a tingle in her spine.
Lost, confused, broken and spent she forces herself awake
Overwhelmed, they take their places
There in the pouring rain their hands meet at a window beaded with dew
Their lips touch, only to be chastised by glass
She looks deep into his eyes, as he says to her
"We will ALWAYS have tomorrow"
